Metals Supermarket. There may be a place to get it a bit cheaper, but Metals Supermarket lets you buy in literally any amount, small or large, and has copper for 40% of the cost of Amazon copper. That 7" long piece of steel that we used for the alt bracket cost $9 since I didnt need any more than that. Its nice for hobbyists. Now for updates Amp rack is coming along Parts of the amp rack M6 wood nuts for amp rack Quick mockup Preliminary testing with the IMSG says the port is tuned to 32Hz. LOL, a bit low for a 4th order, but we're gonna break em in and then decide the final port length/tuning once everything is loosened up. A lot more coming, we're trying to have Shadow ready for show season. Had to trim some plastic from the ECU block to fit the dual G34 battery tray Got the 'back' bracket installed for the large case GM modular case alternator Made a mistake on the dimensions, but that ok since we just used a countersunk bolt to make sure its flush on the face Here you can see the overlap on the countersunk bolt in this pic Making cuts on the front bracket Here's a view of both brackets Battery-alternator-engine ground... using 4/0 Theres some washers acting as spacers so that the lug will fit well The alt is mounted facing backward, here's a view. Had an opportunity with a D3400 and a D3400R. Really digging how minimal we can do the fuse block with reverse batteries. New chassis-battery ground (4/0) Routing Countersinking More routing Bolts Oh shit Positive on top with fuses running down. Negative/Ground on the lower terminal. Reallly tight fit with 4/0 Keeping these cuts classy Ran out of lugs for the Positive Alt-Battery run, so we threw some 1/0 in there for this week. More amp rack work Some routing Drilling and countersinking Taping off the glue areas on the underside of the amp rack so we can paint the inside of the rack Finished the clear panel for the 3.5K The internal lead for the speaker output was sitting on the FETs. Added a few zip ties so that the actual wire jacket isnt touching anything Hauling ass now... More painting this week and glue this weekend. Once all that is dry we can install this thing and see how it sounds.
