Hey, quick question . I've got 2 arc audio ks 2500.1s should I just strap them @ 2 ohms or should I just run them master and slave independently to each 18 @ 1ohm per amp per sub. Running 2 18 inch sundown x's dual 2's.

That is how you "strap" amps. You were correct, just the wording was a bit off.

The main amp (where all adjustments are made) is the master.

The second amp, that is connected to the master, would be the slave.

If you were to strap them, you have two dual 2ohm subs, so your options are to strap at 2ohm per amp or .5 ohm per amp.

You also have the option to gain match. You could run one amp per sub at 1 ohm each amp.

Gain matching gets really iffy when you do it by hand. If you do this, you'd be better off using a meter or one of the SMD CC-1 meters.

From what I have been told I always gain match.

I was told that the audio card of the matster is controlling both amps when strapped and that by gain matching they each use their own audio card and causes less stress to internal components.

Again what I was told not sure if its 100% true or not. I like the idea of strapping but just don't do it anymore
