camshairtricks Posted November 28, 2017 Report Share Posted November 28, 2017 ok im looking at these subs an couldnt help but notice these specs . they have a low bl didnt expect that for such a big motor any way how can these subs control the cone at a high x max 30mm an a low fs wouldnt they sound muddy an lose cone control above 28hz ? i mean i seen the bl was under 20 aint that a weak motor force . my evl has a tiny motor compared to the zv4 yet the bl is more than the zv4 i no the gap plays a role in bl but still . ? WalledSonic Posted November 28, 2017 Report Share Posted November 28, 2017 As you move up in frequency cone control becomes less and less of an issue since above resonance, the cone doesnt need to move as much. The sub doesnt see Xmax above tuning, usually, unless the enclosure design is completely jacked up. From your previous posts, we gather that you want a low tuned setup. The sundown products (along with many others) are industry proven to get low and still sound good. Have you tried modeling software like WinISD, BassBox 6, etc? Theres a lot to learn in the enclosure design software. The TS parameters dont mean much on their own... once you design an enclosure for the sub, thats when the TS parameters become more meaningful.
