I have a 13w7 which is dual 1.5ohms. I can either wire it to 3ohms or 0.75 ohms. If I wire to 3.ohms my choices are pretty narrow as a lot of amps don't do 1200-1500rms at 3ohms and will have to most likely use the jl audio hd1200. If I wire it to 0.75 ohms I have more choices. If I can find a amp that does 1700-1800rms at 1ohm and wire it to 0.75ohms there will be a slight increase of power say 50-75rms and when you consider voltage drop and impedense rise it will probably play around 1ohm? And will see 1300-1400rms? So what amps could you recommend

Car: 2012 Acura TL Elite

Head Unit: JL Audio Fix86

Front Stage : Alpine SPX-17PRO

Rear Stage : Alpine SPR-60C

Component Amp : JL Audio HD 600/4

Sub : 1 12" JL Audio W7

Sub Amp : JL Audio HD 1200

I have a rookie question. Say I wire the 13w7 at 3 ohms and use the jl hd1200. So it will be wired at 3 ohms and will do 1200rms from 1.5-4ohms. So with box rise what will the jl hd1200 do power wise after box rise after 4ohms? I'm thinking of wiring it to 0.75ohms and getting a twisted sounds 1.8k or a digital designs m1d. With box rise and voltage drop the sub should see 1400-1200rms?

What amp would you recommend

Are you chasing numbers? If not find you a 1500- 2000 watt amp, wire to .7 and let er beat. You will not be able to hear the difference in between say 1400 watts vs 1600.

Amps:

Sundown, DC audio, Ampere Audio, Twisted Sounds, Skar, Incrmimator audio,  The list goes on and on of good brands.

Sitting around waiting to be installed:

  4 FI X 10

 270 CES alt

D3400/73ah lithium

 AA 3800.1

  (2) AA 75.4

With box rise and voltage drop am I looking at a 20% power rating drop?

I have question. Would I be able to use this Kicker amp? this amp is only 2 and 4 ohm stable. Would I still be able to wire it at 3 ohms? I calculated it and with voltage drop box rise Im getting around 1080RMS.

With the Kicker 2400 I calculated about 1440RMS at 3ohms with voltage and box rise. The Kicker 2400 might be a good chose but Kicker1800 might also be good only if I can wire it which im not sure if you can wire it to since its only 2 and 4 ohms only. I think you can but want to clear it up.

How did you calculate box rise? If you wire at 3 ohm, box rise could be between 3-4 ohm which is the best case scenario, it doesn't happen very often. Or it can be 2x your impedance, or 3x or even 4 or 5x. You could be rising to more than 6 ohms.

I'd say get the DD M1D you mentioned and run it at .75. It has that new gain knob with a clip light and voltmeter so you can monitor everything. You're probably gonna get around 1000w rms from it which is pretty good.
