Dual Battery System dying over night HELP?

Recommended Posts

Yep the multimeter is the way to go. I also am not proficient in using one but every time I have to do something I consult with YouTube or Google to make sure I am on the right track. It can seem overwhelming with all the settings and whatnot but just break it down to the task at hand and you will be fine.

Sitting around waiting to be installed:

 AA 3800.1

  (2) AA 75.4

its definitely not your alt, if it was your truck wouldn't remain running after you jumped it.

You said the batt u have was only a year old? No warranty? Also if u have a walmart near u they sell a super cheap battery for 50 bucks that comes in a small variety of cranking amps with a 1 year warranty. It may not be the best but will work till u save for somethin better. At least ud be able to start ur truck. Just make sure ur secondary batt is still good. Otherwise you will have the same issue.

Couple questions:

- What's your charging voltage? Check at the alternator and again at each battery

- How quickly does the battery drop to 10v before continuing to fall off?
---What happens if you disconnect your secondary battery? What's the voltage v. time behavior of each?

- How are your batteries wired?

- Do they have removable caps such that you can see each cell?

- Have you performed a parasitic draw test?
