So what do you all believe will be the implications of the repeal of net neutrality? Do you think the people will let corporations get away with screwing us? Or do you think there's still any chance to fight back? Would love to hear what others think.

Its easy to think the big ISPs will collude with each other, limiting options of 'fair' ones to turn to.

However, times are changing, and it seems people have a bit more of a voice due to social media and such.  Hopefully some companies will band together and file a lawsuit or something to put this topic in the courts.  It sucks theres little we can do individually.  Shit, when everyone found out about NSA, we all got pissed off, but we cant do anything about it.

Im not too worried. The internet will go back to the way it was in 2015, before NN was approved; absolutely no different. I feel that the Government should keep its hands out of private business's affairs and let the free market do its thing.

I think the biggest thing that will effect users of the internet is the that the ISPs have the ability to limit bandwidth to any websites they choose. There is also talk about having "packages" like cable tv. you like sports? you have to buy the sports package. like news? you have to buy the news package. the ability to freely surf the internet would be over. click on something that is in a category that your ISP doesn't carry? you might not be able to go there. Doing research for a project or paper? Good luck. If your ISP has a site or service that competes with another ISP, guess which one you would be able to use?

While over regulation will impede the free market system, a certain amount of regulation is needed in commerce. It should be fair to the consumer. While we can vote with our dollars, if all the ISPs do the same kind of package deals then we are screwed.

I understand your line of thinking, but I think if ISPs do like you are suggesting they will lose customers all over the place to other service providers that give people what they want.  Time will tell who is right I guess.

Free market, whats that?

we have crony capatilism here, not a free market.

The guy with the most money to stuff in the politicians pockets wins in this country.

67% of americans have 2 or less choices for isp's in their area, who do you turn to when both of them play these games that they are going to play?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
