That is one of the bad things about CCA. I have never had oxidation issues with OFC, but have after a couple years with CCA (not where it caused issues, but wasnt a fan of it). Yea i figured there could be possible oxidation issues with CCA cable. Ive never had oxidation using ofc Rockford fosgate cable or the royal brand copper welding cable. Was thinking about using CCA for the power and grounds on my wifes camry when i put the type s 10s and the mb quart amp in it, due to the super low cost and the fact that the amp probably only puts out on average 4 to 700 watts playing music, and her alternator will not supply the same current as my truck. Just not sure yet. Now that i think about it i may just pull out the 2 awg run of welding cable from my truck and use that in her car and put a new run of 1/0 in my truck. SkarredSierra Posted January 4, 2018 Report Share Posted January 4, 2018 I never had any corrosion or oxidation issues with the knu cca when i used it. Hydraulic crimpers and adhesive lined heat shrink is what i used for my connections so almost 0 chance of exposure to elements. Ive used welding cable before but in all honesty i perfer knu products. They are much easier to manipulate and look nicer imo. I bought knu ofc when i did my small install in my durango. Been over 2 years. No issues. Theirs lots of different wire out there.
