Best SSD for Gaming.

Recommended Posts

I have used the Samsung 840 Pro, 850 Evo and like them both, and will get more Samsung SSD's on the next build.

If your looking for storage, get the WD Easystore 8TB from bestbuy when they go on sale for $150, and shuck them from the cases and you'll have an 8TB Red Drive for a damn great price.

Please don't ever touch a computer I may ever use in the future.

A SSD from a HDD is the single biggest performance upgrade you can do on a computer. I haven't booted a PC i've owned off spinning media in 8 years.

Spend $40 to get your feet wet, or $85 for something decent.

I own (2) Intel 730 SSD's...the ones with the black skull on it....they have excellent read/write speeds and I run my PC games off of those....they are FAST!

  • 3 weeks later...

If you can, go with an M.2 drive.  You need an NVMe, it will also take up a PCI-e slot if you dont have one built into your motherboard.

You should get read speeds on a slow one of around 1.2 gb/sec  Samsung is usually around 1.4

Most you'll get out of an SSD non raid is 550meg/sec
