crescendo bc2000 only doing 1000rms, why?

no idea.. i did tell him that crescendo may call him to ask more questions about the test and he was ok with that. so if you or kyblack wants, you can pretend to be crescendo and ask all the questions you want regarding the test and how it was done.. just say it was customer by the name of bill with a crescendo bc2000

i will say this. I believe the test. I believe the amp is doing only half of what its suppose to do. Because not only did i suspect this for months.. i kept saying to myself damn this sounds like a 1000rms amp not a 2k rms amp.. and then when i swapped it with a hifonics 2400 watt amp i believed it even more as my sub came alive and everything was so much louder deeper and better off a budget 200 dollar hifonics amp.. and now the test basically proves me suspicion.

now i just need to find out WHY...

With out the details of how the test was performed it proves nothing.

Did you look at the board and take a shit ton of pics?  Thats the first thing I'd do, especially before sending off to a shop.

FETs, caps, and traces intact?  No loose parts?  Board uncracked, especially at the power/ground inputs?

Oh boy.

The method of testing matters big time and can make a huge huge difference in the numbers you get out of it.

If only knew how little power your subs are getting from any amp, it would blow your mind.

If you dont want the amp anf you think its junk I'll pay for shipping and you can gift it to me, lol.

There are people who are much louder than me on half the power, so no, you can't tell the difference, too many variables.

This is not a personal attack on the OP, just general advice for new bassheads:

Please know that your ears lie all the time. Always look for science based results using precise equipment. There are simply too many variables for your ear to give you an accurate answer.

Also a sentence like "Sounds like a 140dB!!!" is very subjective. People question their meter readings simply because they thought it sounded like a 140dB and the meter said 133dB. There's a chance the equipment is off, but 99.9% of the time, your ear lied to you.

considering the fact you are concerned about the small possibility that they swapped out your board or other parts, taking the screws off the back plate and taking some pics is some personal insurance for next time.  If they test it in front of you, fine.  What youre saying is you dropped it off and let them do whatever, without you being able to verify anything, including them giving you back the same parts.

Tip for next time: take a look at it.

Go ahead just take a look at it.
