BMS
The glue that holds the spider to the former cracked. Why might this happen? I gave the spider plenty of break in time to stretch out and the sub didn't come to full excursion.

Mitchaford
1 hour ago, BMS said: I live in Florida. Well then that crosses that out. Could you have been bottoming out the sub at all? possibly the coil hitting the back plate, pushing it up and to pull away from the spiders. Making a stress point and crack. Or the glue may not have set correctly. Any air bubbles in the bead would cause for a weak point. 2008 VW Jetta Team Fi 12 CT 4000.1 CT 125.4 PWX 6.5 80 PRS EB Flex 2/0 Second Skin ^^^ Build ^^^
Markous
Does the person who built it know about this and have a possible explanation? fmedina
This happened on only one sub? Might just gave been a bad one. Like Mitch said, glue didn't set properly? Bring it up to the builder
BMS
No it happened on 6. I noticed today that 2 dust caps blew off leaving 2 giant holes in my box essentially so maybe that decreased the pressure and the subs moved more but they never bottomed out that i heard. i can take a pic of the bottom of the voice coil. The subs are also a year apart in age and it happened to all of them new and old. He didn't know why it happened but i found pieces of glue that were 180 degrees of the 4 inch voice coil as one piece on top of the box from multiple subs so huge chunks of glue. i didn't see air bubbles.
