Alternator or Battery

Recommended Posts

I understand what you guys are saying. H/O alt at idle has trouble supplying enough current to run everything, especially with fans blowing like in the summer?

But I've seen manufacturer's ratings for their H/O alts at "idle" (around 800 RPM), and it's still higher than what a standard alt can do.

Example - https://www.mechman.com/high-output-240-amp-alternator-Ford-Escape

Hot rated at idle to do 120 A.

Is it the cheaper H/O alts that struggle at idle?

Really, really like those battery terminals!!!

Keep doing what you're doing, take your time, and get it right.
