Help with Mmats Amp

Liquid Arthur

Recommended Posts

I did check the gain and it made no difference turned any direction.

I have, however, done some more research and experimenting and figured out much this evening.  I managed to cut the silicon away from the part in question and desolder it from the board.  Through some more digging I figured out that it is, in fact, a capacitor,  sometimes called an "orange drop" capacitor.   Once removed I could see that it was marked behind the silicon, "106K 100V" and an "A" on the next line.  Apparently these can be had from multiple sources for just a few bucks.  I should be able to get a next one and hopefully that will fix it.  Old school bump soon come!

Still tryin' to figure out which dang amplifier this is though...
