Amplifier Gain Adjustment

Welp. Count a single person out here. I've never used bass boost in my life. And I compete in burp along with other areas of competition. Normally is boosts around 45 for 99% of amps out there. 45hz  does nothing for me.

bass boost = instant distortion

when I first got my DD1, a tech I was training told me they max the bass boost then adjust the gain. every amp we tested, when both the gain and bass boost knob were moved the distortion light would come one when the second knob was moved slightly. didn't matter if we did bass boost second or gain second. most of the time the distortion was not audible. every time the gain was adjusted with no bass boost it was louder than maxing the bass boost then adjusting the gain.

if nothing changes, nothing changes

You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know

Ive never used the bass boost gain. imo im not even sure why they have it. The main gain should be all you need, the bass boost knob is just the easiest way to cause distortion.
