Needing options around this fusible link BS

Recommended Posts

Hello. I believe this is my first post under this account but I have been in car audio for almost 20 years. I am working with a 2011 Infiniti QX56. I want to start my electrical upgrades with 1/0 power wire ran & Big3 before I start purchasing my equipment. Right now I am about to buy the XSPower D27 for under the hood but I am having problems figureing out which terminals to buy to accommodate this fusible link thing.

I had the same thing on a 2008 G35 but it was much smaller, so I just connected it to my Monster battery terminals which I no longer have. Any ideas on how to get around this?

What I did in my i30 is to buy new terminals and used a short length of 4 gauge with an eyelet crimped on one end that was then bolted to the fusible link box...then taped over the bolt.  (it is the short red wire.)  Maybe a little ghetto but it works just fine.  car2.jpg

Can’t you just get the XS battery you want and buy the top posts for it so you can swap that factory piece right onto the XS battery?

You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it.

That probably wouldnt work 79cutty. XS doesnt have a direct replacement for most batteries and the distance from the post to the side of the battery may not be enough to accommodate the fusible link.  Nissan/Infiniti did some weird stuff with these fusible link thingies...

That may not be a bad idea. I do have that top nut on my fusible link. I could run 4ga off of the battery to that connection on the link, then secure it somewhere.

I'm pretty sure this is the part that connects to the terminal posts via a bolt is this;

And the connection made is only a nut and bolt that comes from something like this but with a nut not a wing nut;

Now XS power batteries use a screw style instead of a post that is pictured above so the only options you have are like these so you can still use a post type connection instead of a screw through this adapter; (this would allow you to use your factory terminals)

Or if you are looking for more posts so you can have options they make these in two variants that fit your battery (https://4xspower.com/shop/12v-agm/d-series/d2700/)

Variant 1

Variant 2

Hope this helps
