i used track 7 on the dd-1 and am at -13 on the deck subwoofer output, ssytem was set for 0 subwoofer output setting.  I suspect it could be lack of reserve also, I have 3 banks of ultracaps here I need to put in yet just waitin on terminals

as far as the clip light on these amps, it matches exactly to when the dd-1 clip light goes on

Set to -5 or -10 sir.  -15 is a lot of overlap.

This is why I refuse to use stuff to set my system up this kinda crap happens, And ive only ever had one sub blow because I was over-powering it at 2ohms and set it to 8ohms and never had a single issue.

I have always setup my system by ear and can damn near almost crank the deck to 35/35 depending on the song, otherwise its 30/35.  I have my RBC connected to my JBL amp and set to full and never have had a issue.  Have you tried at all messing with the settings on the deck at all?  Since it is the source unit any problems could occur from it before the amps.

yea theres a buncha crap on there i havent heard of, i elft msot of it fof and im always flat eq and no loudness

i am running space enhancer on 1 out of 3

I retuned the system with track 3 which is the track I have always used, I just for some reason rememebred it as track 7 and never checked to make sure. this is a new build i threw together in 3 weeks by myself ,

the system is alot louder and cleaner, no clip light anymore either, it pays to read the instructions every now and then, at first i was wondering what the hell kyleblak was talking about i then looked into it and found my error. i still need more reserve though

I have had alot of success with the smd dd-1 it was just my error that it wasnt tuned where it should be

there is a large difference between a smaller system and a system like this, the subs are i believe 4 or 5k rms and i have 1 amp per subwoofer  and each amp can dynamic over 10k

the smallest of errors can cost you alot of money quickly, im glad i have a good nose i was wondering why i could only play 1 song before gettn some stink, had i not made this post i prolly would have never looked at the instructions and found i should be using track 3

Thats like buying a fast car and never driving fast. You learn, you understand, and then you can push your equipment to the limits and get everything you paid for. Running a 2ohm amp at 8ohm allow you a better safety margin, but you are also wasting a ton of money by not using what you paid for. Knowledge is power.

Those knobs are fairly crap iirc from all the complaints Ive seen from people, well at least the CT Sounds RCA version  but they are most likely all the same.

They where first designed and used with the CT Sounds amps a couple years ago and used by them, then they added the rca version. Then the whole Paul Kim ordeal who worked for the buildhouse got shafted by CT Sounds. Not too long after Digital Designs was using that knob, and not apparently DS18.
Only the knobs that connect direct to the amp via RJ45 style cable have the clipping indicator, the RCA versions only have a power light with no clipping indicator. Though it looks like the DD knob doesn't have a power light it does but the LED is hidden and when its on the DD logo illuminates red.
