Internal cooling missing on a lot of bigger high end amps?

I need 2x5k boards for 4-fi audio 15's so I've been researching the bigger Korean boards (sundown, DC, deafbonce, twisted sounds etc). Why do some have fans ( sundown and wolfram ,twisted) and some don't ( DC5k,skar skv2 4500.1, etc) and some don't? I was told boards over 3.5k should always have internal cooling. Leaning on wolfram 4500.1's

A well designed board may not need a fan.  Ampere, DC, DD, Sundown, TS, and Crescendo are all Xenon boards (Korean) and are all reliable.  I cant speak for the others.

Im running (2) Ampere 5Ks wired to 0.35 ohm each daily on my SP4s.  Those Amperes are fucking tanks, bang for the buck... hard to beat.

Pretty much that.  ^^^  The less efficient the amp, the more heat it puts out.

You can use external fans and / or you can put them in places where air will circulate across them.

Whether or not an amp uses a fan has less to do with efficiency and more to do with board layout.  If all your resistors are clumped together, then the board gets hot there.  Usually the fan is placed over the resistor bank on the filtering section...

Pretty sure skars sk line is korean while the rp and lp lines are chinese. I have the lp line and even for being chinese they are proven to do rated power and are well made. All the companies u listed have good products but id steer clear of twisted sounds. From wat ive seen the owner has gotten into legal troubles so the company may not be around much longer. If you get one without a fan you can always add an external one as others have suggested if you notice it getting hot.

Twisted Sounds spec'd good amps.  Regardless of the owner's current troubles (meaning no more company), the amps that were purchased from Zenon are great boards that do MORE than rated in the case of the 2.8 and 3.5K.  The other models do the rated power.

They want you to buy the fans to use to keep the amp cool, it is a cost effective way of putting less into the amp they feel is not needed but it really is and the consumer if they want their stuff to work for a long time to spend the $$ on cooling.

This is complete bullshit, although its spoken as though you have some foundation to base this comment upon.  Contrary to popular belief, there are actually people that come to these threads to learn.

Never said twisted amps werent good. I think they were intentionally labeled far under their real power as some kind of sales gimic but they for sure are good products. My concern would be warranty related or cs related purely.

I have been into Car Audio since early 90's and have spoken to many companies and I did not say anything that was not true!
