Hellbilly429
Thanks Karkov! Yeah, that was a picture from about March here in upstate NY. I love the new Honda Sports, especially since the cost isn't too bad and the gas mileage is fantastic. Red basket came from Sky High, I love it too! Hit up Sky High if you want a powder coated basket of basically any color you want on a DC sub. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Got some work done on the box tonight. Got these corner clamps for Christmas, I love them! Cost like $13 on Amazon, and what a lifesaver they are! Port is together, but not attached to the box yet. I just set it in there to mock it up, and trace it out inside the box. I have to round over the port yet, and put some corner pieces in. Planning on using a dish carving bit to make the corners of the box rounded instead of angular. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Just ordered a 3/4" thick 12"X12" piece of plexiglass for the window. Plan to turn it so that it is a "diamond" viewing window on the side of the box. already drew out the size on the box to look at it, and both the girlfriend and myself agree that it'll look great like that. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Just ordered this HU: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_070AV6446B/Axxera-AVN6446BT.html?tp=72406&avf=Y Not really familiar with the brand, but the specs and price were hard to beat! Cost $350 after all install harnesses/kits for my car. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Been a rough and crazy couple of weeks, but finally made time to get this Axxera installed. Crutchfield gave me absolutely everything i needed for this, and that was such a huge help! I used velcro ties rather than tape to tie everything together, and I used these Posi-Twists for the wiring https://www.crutchfield.com/p_669PP500/Posi-Products-Car-Stereo-Wiring-Harness-Connectors.html?tp=61469, which were a huge convenience since this car required 3 different harnesses to retain all stock controls and the instructions sucked, so I had to undo and redo a couple ends. I used dielectric grease on every electrical connection as well. Dash install kit was super easy. Apparently there is no known way (yet) to retain the factory microphone, so I took the factory housing apart and hot-glued the Axxera microphone in it. By the way, this took the longest because at first I could not find the hot glue gun, then I had almost no glue left in the gun and couldn't find the glue sticks, so I shoved the glue through with a chopstick. Not proud, but got the job done! Back together in the rest of the housing for the mic. Tied the GPS antenna, stock mic harness, and the Axxera mic together, and threw the GPS antenna up on the headliner for now. I didn't realize the antenna didn't come with any double-sided tape on it, and I didn't have any on hand, so it's just free-balling up there for now until I get some tape and stick it there permanently. All the wires tied together and plugged in. What a mess! Btw, don't let your girlfriend in your car if you want to keep it clean... Tested all deck functionality out before putting entirely back together. Everything works great! Rearview is stuck on fish-eye view, but apparently that cannot be changed for this car with an aftermarket deck. No big deal. I can at least adjust the brightness. Shot of the EQ. Just running off the deck power for now with no tweets, so made some quick changes while playing around for a bit. GPS works! Radio works! And the DVD player works! It even serves beer! I wish.... Haven't had any real play time with this deck yet, but I have to say it is really easy to use, the touch screen works well, and the price really just makes this thing a sick deal. Now to see how the longevity of it is, and see how it handles some amps eventually. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Joshdashef
Nice job dude. I love where you put the mic wish I had a panel like yours next to my dome light! Hellbilly429
Girlfriend says it sounds clear. It's definitely a nice location for the mic. Thanks! Will have to see if it picks up road noise while driving or not. Should be good though. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Just ordered SMD Heavy duty pvc 1 channel copper speaker terminal because of Jon Rabe's sales ploy... Support Berto by buying this shirt, and spend $5 more to get free shipping... So an extra $60 later, lol. Excited about the shirt and the terminal. Used a regular one on my girlfriend's Sundown SD8 box and loved it. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429
Tried to cut some 3/4" 45's today, but saw blade is kinda fucked, so went to Lowes and found this nice 3/4" oak coved corner trim. Saved me some work! Since the cove wasn't edge to edge, i rounded over the ends for smoother air flow. I gave the port wall a 1/2" round over on the back sides. I cut all 6 pieces to length of the oak strip. Edges were rough from the roundover, so I gave it a quick sanding, and forgot to take pics for the after. They came out pretty smooth. Glued and screwed into the corners. Couldn't get a whole lot done. Spent a good portion of the time I did have setting up and figuring out my new router table. Definitely makes routing consistently easier. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
