All season tires that don't suck in the snow?

Recommended Posts

Will need a new set for my ride before we go into winter. Current tires just don't cut it in the snow.

Ideally, I'd have dedicated winter tires but storing and maintaining something like that isn't feasible for me right now. So, I'm on the hunt for some all seasons that can actually work worth a damn in the snow and ice. I was eyeing up Nokian, but I know there's more out there. What have yall used and do you like it?

Tire size is 265/70r17

I've always heard that all season tires perform worse than summer tires in the summer, and they also perform worse than winter tires in the winter. So why have 'em? Storing a second set of tires is not that hard, I keep them under my bed.

You can also take a look at this German website adac.de, they are an organization that tests tires and all stuff for cars. These are the links for their all season test:

Good luck, all seasons just cant compete with snow tires when driving in snowy icy conditions.

Are you allowed to use tire chains where you live?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Turns out Nokain does have a couple offerings for my car. Just need to select their truck/suv portion of the site. Didn't see that differentiation on mobile

I can use chains. They're just not practical except if I really fucking need 'em. Would essentially be tossing them on to get out of town. Then when I get to the highway, taking them back off. My chains aren't rated for anything past 30

  • 3 weeks later...

I run BFG Ko2s on the yota. so far, (about 4k on em) I really diggin em. Nice manners on road, quiet, and do really well in the bush. Wet traction is dope, does real well, a very pleasant surprise... and, I like the look. Aggressive but not a mud tire look. Never noticed the cock shaped thing ...
