That amp is not going to produce 1000 watts after impedance rise anyway, more like 300-500 watts. My Build Log
DJ Zander
So these r the specs that the battery I have now under the hood. Called autocraft gold battery 96R-3. Don't really know how to tell if that's good enough. Many mixed opinions on this topic and it's difficult to pick the best answer out of all of them

alex912005
It's small, probably around 50 Ah or so, but get your setup going and try it. You won't know if you need a bigger one until you try. My Build Log

DJ Zander
One more thing, can someone tell me what exactly is a voltage drop in numbers. alex912005
14.4 V is what you need in a best case scenario. But your stock alternator might drop to 13.8 for fuel economy reasons, that's normal. When you're playing music you don't wanna drop under 12 V. Though some people use amps in these conditions successfully. But it's not recommended. My Build Log
DJ Zander
Ok so if I go under 12V then I need a bigger battery under the hood right?
alex912005
Yes, and/or alternator. My Build Log
corey0928
Your battery only provides power when your alternator can't. And when Ford was picking out the alternator battery combo for your car, they weren't planning on audio upgrades. It can't hurt to upgrade either or both. As stated before, your head lights will dim unless you have completely stable voltage or you change to hid/led head lights
