Are most of us actually under powering our sub's?

Right, my view on what amp I need has totally changed. I no longer try to match the RMS, I try to double the RMS and set the gain correctly. It seems like I have a bunch of non believers but the difference is very noticeable. Looking back its probably more like 3x the power because the amp is under rated but whatever, people can believe what they want. The difference is something that you can actually feel in your chest when I turn it up lol.

Its no secret that speakers get louder with more power untill the coil hits thermal compression.

Careful using 3x rated as a set it forget it type of deal, that will for sure give some woofer/enclosure combinations a run for its money, ever try doing this with an fi bl?, Dont.

Better to know what a specific driver can take instead of running 3x rated to all

I never run at rated power on front stages, ever.

No less than double and preferably more.

Speakers can take way more than rated and do.

This is why you buy known named quality brands, the more power the better the results.

All people want is Power. No one ever talks about dynamics and driver control. Sad.

if people could actually see how my baby class A/B amplifier is working this big brute driver musically, they’d shit themselves ... lol

bah, who needs dynamics if you can just throw power at things until they break? ?

That's when you find out the sad truth, that they can't take their rated power. Or that they can take it for 2 minutes before the coil smells.
