CMN Extralife LAN party build

Recommended Posts

Last year I joined some other IS guys from work in gaming for 20+ hours straight to raise money for the local children's hospital. Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Extralife event is an national event to raise money for children's hospitals. Well it's that time again so this year I chose to build a mid tower rig for easier transport. Here is what I have so far, more to come.

EVGA ran a bundle and it was a great deal

Specs:

I7 8086k

32gb ddr4 3200 (2x16gb)

EVGA Z370 Classified K

EVGA 1080Ti FTW3

Samsung 1TB PCIE m.2 NVMe

EVGA closed loop 240mm AiO

EVGA 850 G3 PSU

EVGA DG-76 black

That looks like a VERY nice build.  I am a little jealous.  I have a 2 year old rig I built myself that is great and close to as good as yours but not quite (things change so much with hardware).

That's a cool thing you people are able to do.

Do you build a new rig every year?  What was your last rig?  What games do you play?

After hauling the full tower build out last year I knew I wanted something smaller, and I have a socket 1366 rig (first gen I7) that needed replacing.

Current Rig is here:

Few changes top card in SLI is now water cooled along with 480mm of radiator and cpu cooling. 2.5TB of SSD and 32gb total ram now.

The current rig outscores the new build but only because the SLI.

I should add, I do play it at full 2K and 165hz so a Ti would be nice, LOL
