And here's the ground cable. I ran it through the back corner of the cab, and down to the frame

The ground will be covered in dielectric grease, and loom. I also might make a protective cover to put over it, just to be safe

And this is where I am currently. I covered the box in carpet and am working on the amp rack cover. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get everything tested and wired up

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks! This weekend I'll try wiring up the dash and amps. I'm losing my garage for 3 months while earthquake retrofitting is going on, so I'm going to try and get as much done as I can.

Haven't had a lot of time to work on this project, but was able to do a little more wiring. Added the LED lights behind the amp rack.

Also created a platform for the engine bay out of 1/2" ABS to house the fuse holders for the amps, the new alternator cable and the relays.

It's going to be mounted on the drivers side, next to the main fuse box.

The Fuse holders.

And Mounted...

The weight of the fuse holders are heavier than I expected, so I need to mount it better. I'm currently using an L shaped bracket underneath for it to rest on, and another to keep it from moving side to side. But both brackets aren't really strong enough and there's a lot of movement.
