Box tuning

It’s a matter of personal taste I think and the type of music you listen to. I have used sealed enclosures a lot then tried two 10’s tunes to 40hz now using 2 15’s tuned to 29hz. For me my current setup far exceeds any other I’ve had previously. The lows are greatly exaggerated and it rolls off pretty drastically above 40hz. It may lack a little punchiness on some recordings but there is always a trade off no matter what you choose. 50 - 80 hz blend perfectly with my front stage and it kills it from 25 - 40 hz. It’s a little peaky around 40 still but I will tune that out. I listen to a lot of bass heavy reggae and some e-40 where he likes to use low bass notes. I like slayer, and for that it is not ideal, but the double bass drums still sound good enough.

I prefer to tune ported enclosures in the mid-upper 20s.  Thats just me though.  Had some PSI subs with an Fs of 35Hz and had the box tuned to 26Hz.  I would do it again.
