trainman0978 Posted May 4, 2008 Report Share Posted May 4, 2008 I have a terrible habit of squeezing the hell out of my steering wheel with my left hand. In three years time my 2001 honda civic looked worse than that. I had to replace the wheel before I traded it in. My ex-girl used to flip out cause I would squeeze the wheel so tight that it looked like , as she said " your trying to pop the veins in your hand" . I have to pay attention to myself when I drive now and constantly switch hands or move them around on the wheel. I don't know why people do it, it has to be some sort of weird sub conscious thing. Then it doesn't help that gripping down that tight makes your hands sweat trapping moisture in the foam, causing further wear and tear. to top it off, I can't stand the way a wheel cover feels on the damn thing...
