Attempted to try sketchup, box for 2014 ram crew cab.

Been messing around with sketchup all day after watching a few youtubes about how to use sketchup free. The 2018 version.

Heres my first attempt at really trying to use this program to create a design.

I went with a single 15 because i didnt think there would be enough volume for two, but its looking more possible after i found the volume.

Are my findings on the internal volume of this design correct?? 6.3 cubes? Ofcourse i know i have to account for sub displacement, port displacement and bracing displacement. Any thoughts?

This is what i did on my notes, am i correct?

Finding enclosures air volume (cubic feet) with an inner face Area of 5.2207 square feet.

  1. Turn Area into square inches by multiplying by 144 (12inchX12inch=144) 5.2207X144=751.7808square inches

  2.   Face Area is now 751.7808 square          inches, now to get cubic inches, multiply by the depth (box is internally 14.5inch deep/wide).

751.7808X14.5=10,900.8216cubic inches

   3.   Now to turn cubic inch into cubic feet, divide cubic inch total by 1728 (12x12x12=1728).

10,900.8216/1728=6.308345833333333

   4. The internal air space/volume of the enclosure is 6.3cubic feet.

  5. A few more things need to be included and deducted from that volume still. Which is the Sub displacement, Port displacement and also any bracing.

Your method for using SketchUp to determine internal volume is exactly how I do it. Works great.

Does this port length calculator seem accurate?

Then went and used the triticum port area calculator with varrying power 1500-2000-2500-3000. But same net volumes and same tuning. Optimal Port areas came out to range from 61square inches at 1500watts and 87 square inches at 3000watts.
