So im getting a pickup, gonna retire the blazer i think. Have to try and shoehorn all or most of my equipment into a pickup now. Amps are easy, remove seat and put a abs plate on back wall and mount amos there, door speakers are easy to. Have been looking at the premade boxes and they claim just under a cube on each side so thats about 2 cubes there. My old truck i put spacers on rear seat mount and raised it 2" to fit 4 10s facing forward. I can do that easily for this too, i dont have any measurments to work with right now but am wondering if anyone knows approximate available airspace, or if anyone has fit a big single 12 under the rear seat in one of these trucks. Only other option i can think of if i cant get my 12 ti fit is maybe 4 8"s ( ab vfl maybe) but i dont think they will get close to a" brown note" like i want to have tho. Any ideas?

2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears. All done by me. stereo is Pioneer avh 600ex, all stinger rca, jp23 v1.5, skar rp150.4, and hertz hpd4. 2 SHCA 6.5 8ohm, 1 SHCA 3.5", and 1 DS18 tw120pro in each door. The 3.5 mid and 3.5" tweeters are powered by the skar rp150.4, the 6.5s are powered by the hertz bridged @4 ohms. Dual runs   of 3/0 welding cable, 300a alternator, 2 Vmax AGMs up front. current sub is a AB XR 12 ( dual 2 ohm) with bottom spider cut out in 2.25 cubes at 32hz

Well think ive decided to put my xfl in my girls yukon, now i have to figure out what to do in the silverado. Anyone have any ideas? Have 2k rms @2ohms for sub power,  budget is around 200 for subs, was looking at ds18 8"s but haven't looked too hard yet. Im not a fan of skar ( 2 bad experiences with em and just gonna stay away) and what are my other options?  I like it low but know i will be limited with 8s, even more limited with 6.5"s ( was even thinking 6 6 1/2 setup).

Could probably fit 6 of those under my seat, would be over powering them so could even go sealed on the box.

Never had any sundown stuff, but even wiring to 4ohms im pushing over 1k and just one of em is almost at my puny budget. Did some more reading on planet audio, yeah nevermind on that option.  I think i decided to grab a single xfl10,  raise the rear seat about 2" and build a custom box, i think i can squeeze about 2.25-2.5 cubes out of the space i have. Still not tall enough for a 12 though,  so single front firing 10 and front firing port. Will be a while still before i start this project but think i have everything planned out pretty well.

dont be afraid of the 8s man, ive seen/heard guiys with 8s get down!

look into these: https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_68129_Massive-Audio-HIPPO84.html

2 of those, tuned properly with no clipping and in a spec'd enclosure will absolutely get down and handle more than 1k rms for the pair.  the VFL 8s are also some bangers, and only $110 on amazon right now.  man i'd do the VFL 8s personally, they'll eat.

I've been on a tiny sub kick lately and am part of the 6.5" subs only group on FB, there's guys there doing 150s with 6.5s, so don't rule them out completely.

My first thought was the vfl, AB has never let me down, but those hippos look like they handle business! Actually about to put 4 of the 6.5 s under my buddies rear seat of his f250 super duty. Was kind of waiting to see how they sounded before i decided. Still on the edge about the single 10, cause 2 vfls would not only look awesome ( i got a thing about shit being symmetrical)  but 2 8s have more cone area.  Thanx lol, now i gotta go through the pros and cons all over again!

My amp puts 2k @ 2 ohms and 1k @ 4 ohms, vfls are only 4 ohm dvc, would have to get 4,  maybe i could do 2 at a time on each side of center hump. What about the xd 8s? Half the price so can probably afford 4 of em, 300 rms each, thats 1200 and every AB sub ive heard easily takes close to double its rms if ita clean power.

the xd 8s would probably work out fine, just make sure you have enough room for the port area.  that's beyond my knowledge, but i'm sure someone on here could come up with a good design for you
