Looking for a budget amp for under $250. Sold my Rockville db16 installed for that and now need another amp. I have been looking for something 2k ish or more. For now gonna run 2 vfl8s@ either 1 or 4 ohms, and will be getting another pair of vfls soon, so the 1/2 ohm stable on this amp makes feel this is a good choice. Ppi used.to be good equipment, have no idea if it still is. I like the looks of.it also. Watched it on the dyno and it put up good number, very close to rated. Had the a few American bass amps on my list also but theu dont seem to put out rated numbers from.the dynos i watched. I know im way over powered for the subs i have but i may end up running something different amd would rather have plenty of overhead and plenty of power for whatever i want to run in the future. Whats yalls input on this amp or suggestions on a good amp under 250 that over 2k @..5 ohms or 2k at 2ohm. Never had a problem with my Rockville, they have great customer service and good warranty but just want something different as they dont look that great.

The 3.5 mid and 3.5" tweeters are powered by the skar rp150.4, the 6.5s are powered by the hertz bridged @4 ohms. eh i'd stay away from it, the low end (if not all) PPI stuff is trash nowadays.

personally, i have one of these beating the hell out of 2 xfl 12s right now.  according to the amp dyno is only does about 1.8k rms but it's definitely putting in work for me.

also,  bigD did a dyno drag with a budget orion and a soundstream, the soundstream does about 2500w rms dynamic

I was looking at the soundstream amps already, didn't figure they were better than the ppi but times have changed i guess.  The ppi is putting out good numbers tho ill keep looking. May have to keep reading and researching the AB amps since the subs are awesome.

How about the AB VFL4480.1d thats in my price range also, just the few dynos i have seen AB amps arent putting out the power they are rated for which i guess isnt a bad thing since i will be over powering my subs anyways, just dont like when theybsay i get somwthing and turns out i dont ya know?

So I decided on the soundstream,  and added a matching 4 channel and still within my 250 budget. Matching amps look nice anyways. Going to put my jbl in my girls yukon, she needs a real amp, got a quantum 800 mono on 2 mtx terminator 15s and headunit power on doors. The jbl got more power running in 3 way than the quantum does all day.

the 4480 has been the black sheep of AB's line, doesn't do anything close to rated from what i've read.  which is a shame.  honestly other than the upper VFL line stuff, i probably wouldnt roll the dice on another AB amp.

totally would on a wolfram 2400 tho:  https://theamplab.net/wolfram-c-2400-1/
