Electrical for 6000 rms

Recommended Posts

A second d3100 will definitely help. i'd think it will stop the dimming. The more the merrier in these cases but two d3100s should be a decent enough minimum for that size of a system to my knowledge. Do you have a big 3 installed? What's your wire run like? Will you be charging your batteries externally at all? & how do you play the system? Might help someone more experienced to better answer ;)

I'm currently running a 240a alt and 4 D3400xs on with 4 RP.1500s at 1 ohm and I only drop into the high 11s after about 15-20 mins of full tilt demos. 2/0 big 3 wiring with 4 power runs. Amps are all grounded to the chassi. Batteries get charged once a week. I'm considering running a 370a alt to cut out all voltage issues along with a couple of super caps.

joseph, the 15-20 mins isn't straight non stop song change is the only "break" the electrical gets. I've pushed it before to see what the limits were and I eventually did see low 11s. A 370alt and a supercap should cut out all voltage drop for what I do with my set up. But It will end up being more extensive than that because I'm going to be swapping to 4 rp.4500s when I rebuild next and a sub upgrade as well.  So as always more upgrades coming lol
