gaining db

Recommended Posts

hopefully i can get some input on this, but i have a 2 dr 08 altima w/ a trunk wall that has 2 skar vxf 15s on a taramps md5000.1 w/ limitless 45. The highest i have been able to pull from it is a 150.96 in the passenger kick (driver door open). Question is, whats some tips on gaining db?? i havent deadened a single thing yet (i know, i know, its coming later this week). (i do have a sunroof) Will birching the roof help?? also, it is completely sealed off from the trunk. Thanks!

Have you spent any time tuning your box? Adjusting port area and port length is a good place to start. Sound deadening is an odd one, can be hit or miss depending on resonances

Not yet. It’s two 6 inch aero ports tuned at 34hz. I thought about buying a flare set to add some length and bring the tuning down a little

  • 2 weeks later...

You should also monitor your battery voltage during use. Find out how much current you're pulling and how you can get more current to the amp. Adding a second battery on my setup gave me an extra 275 Watts RMS
