Please make sure that your baffles are secure to the doors directly and not depend on the door panel itself. It is rattles waiting to happen. Just ask me how I know ... lol

Oh yea, most definitely. I have enough rattles to hunt down as it is lol Good thing about working on these door panels is I found a rattle where the panel was seemed together (One reason why i decided to make it seemless) and compliments of my nephew, there were several bolts missing to the access panel causing another.

Question.

Did you find a need to make a gasket of some sort to seal the edges of the access panel up in yours to control any vibrations, or was it sufficient the way it is?

If you're talking about the holes in the door itself then I sealed then shut

What I'm lookin at is this inner panel that everything in the door mounts to. The edge has a lip around it and its hard to tell how well it seals or resonates. I'm just curious if this has been a problem area for anyone?

Get some 1/8" abs and some rivenuts. So you can deal it shut. And deaden around that. And stick a peice of deadener on the abs filler peice

I've got the ABS and deadener ready to go, but before I move forward with that step I'm wondering if anyone has needed to make a gasket of some sort to go around the edge between the access panel and the inner door where the bolts attach... and what they used?

(Foam, weatherstrip, rope caulk, silicone, etc.)

Interesting. That's never crossed my mind to add a full layer of foam under my panels. I've only used it in areas that had clearance issues. What's the main benefit of doing it this way and have you used any other foam types, thickness or patterns vs this one?

Playin around at the shop.

Will be starting the metal and bodywork this weekend. I have a few minor dings to fix and 2 rusty cab corners but...

The real question is 1996 fenders... or 1956 :)

(I'm thinkin '56 will be just fine)

Gotcha. Wasnt sure if the wave pattern was a dual purpose kinda thing, to diffuse unwanted sound under door panel lol
