Tuned too low?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of building an enclosure for a Skar VVXv3 12 and I was wondering if I tuned too low. The internal volume is 2.96 after bracing and sub displacement with a slot port area of 2"x14.5" (29 sq inches )and  the port length is approximately 32" which puts me around 26ish hz. Is that too low ? I do not have have the top on the enclosure yet so I have the option to change it while I'm ahead.

Is it one driver? ~3cuft sounds a bit on the large side if so. What's your intended use case for this?

If your port volume is .74 cu ft then you need to subtract that to get the net volume. Which it sounds like is 2.22 cu ft, so your tuning would be higher.

Assuming the box is built you can just play test it and find out what your tuning REALLY is using sine wave tones and watching cone movement.
