I'm fairly certain the rear "tuning waveguide" is just a low tuned transmission line. The "balance waveguide" positioned directly in front of the cone is the really intriguing part. There must be some kind of magic mojo going on with it. It just looks to be a very high tuned transmission line to me from the pics, but I imagine they aren't telling the whole story. Or they might be, just because something is patented doesn't mean it actually work well. Check out the Lil Wrecker, Microwrecker, and Gjallarhorn designs. SERIOUS home theater bass.
