AvensisTurbo
Hello everyone, my name is Sander, i am from the Netherlands in Europe. I have a 1999 Toyota Avensis, that is swapped from 1.6 4a-fe to a 3sgte 2.0 turbo Carlos Sainz W/A, drivetrain is swapped from FDW to 4WD. MoTeC M400 Stand alone ECU with advanced functions upgrade. CT26 Turbo changed to Garrett Ball Bearing Turbo Top Mount W/A Intercooler changed to Front Mount A/A The swap to 4wd is almost completed. Rear of the car is all done, have to install the propshaft and put the last things on the front together, completely new exhaust from turbo back and then it will be finished. K-Sport 356 mm 8 Pot front brakes My ICE system setup: Kenwood KVT-920 DV2200 navigation (which is actualy useless these days because of the age of the system and not being able to use updates, but have nav on my phone, so dont really need it that much) Kenwood KDS-P900 5.1 surround processor Boston Acoustics Z6 front and rear Boston Pro60SE for center Boston SPG-555 Subwoofer Audison speaker cable Optima Yellow Battery Boston acoustics 2 channel amp for centre speaker Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the door speakers My previous amp for the sub was fried in my other car, still have to be replaced with something else. I have had JBL speakers before, but am working on installing the door and centre speakers at the moment. I want to keep the doorpanels as OEM looking as possible, but the front speakers don't make very good bass on that location, so i am looking at how to make a door pod that integrates the best with the doorpanel. Also better for the speaker because they will not exposed to the water that runs down in the door when it rains. I have not heard the Z6 speakers play yet, but i have had the Pro60SE installed in my Avensis Wagon. This is a picture of the car when i bought it in 1999. This is what the car looks like today. (Wheels are not alligned on this picture). Stock Engine Engine Bay at the moment The Kenwood Head unit. Gauges under the unit are moved to the gauge cluster. AvensisTurbo
Doorjambs also painted with the 2 tone. All masking done by hand. Filler panel inside also painted, has to be cleaned properly, there is some dust inside still after sanding and polishing the paint. Made new dial plates, that go up to 300 km/h instead of 240, and changed the max rpm from 8 to 9 k.

AvensisTurbo
Started with fiber glass to make front door housings for the Boston Z6 speakers. Bought Kevlar and Carbon for the outside finish of the speaker housing. I am working on the design for the speaker housings.
AvensisTurbo
Installing the filters in the doors. There was a plastic bracket inside the doorpanel that i removed so the filter fits exactly in that spot. The filters look really good, but i decided to hide these from sight. Each filter weighs 1 kilogram. Installed the filter on the door, i placed threaded rivet nuts in the door for easy installation and it will not rattle. Doorpanel installed
AvensisTurbo
I am figuring out what to do with the centre speaker. Place the Boston PRO60 on top of the dash, below the head unit, or replace the boston woofer with a smaller woofer.
AvensisTurbo
Since i need to install 2 SPA gauges in my gauge cluster the analog fuel gauge will be deleted and this one is changed to digital. I have torn apart the digital gauge and replaced the led bar on it with only blue leds. I ordered a blue one, which had an orange and red led at the lowest position, but they sent me a wrong one with green, orange and red. The plastic housing inside my avensis did not have a hole on the bottom, but the facelift model has an opening for 2 warning lights, so i swapped this housing and put the led bar on that spot. With the original housing i am keeping an OEM look and at the same time having a custom solution. I made an adapter plate to fit out the opening nicely with a fuel tank logo on it. This fuel tank logo is made to be lit up, but there is no led there yet. Will be done later... After a deep breath i finally had the guts to dismantle the SPA gauges, this is what it looks like when the housing is removed. It took an ever deeper breath to take the dremel and start grinding at the back of the electronic board to remove the connector. This one had to go off in order to be able to make room to not hit the electronic board of the gauge cluster itself. I could not desolder the block because there was not room for the soldering iron to fit in between the board and the lcd display. I managed to take away the connector block to get it to fit. Changed the face plate to grey flock with white lettering. The gauge will be installed on an angle in the final result, i can not read the LCD screen properly if i install it flat to the housing. The digital gauge when lit up (note i made this picture on the wrong angle so lcd text was not showing properly).
