2014 Toyota Corolla ho alt vs 2nd battery

Recommended Posts

My car has a stock 100a alt with big 3 upgrade

I have a skar SKv2-2500.1D amp. that I need to power.

I can get a Northstar bci 35 for starting and a second Northstar agm220 or Northstar 31. I was told by gpaudio that the agm220 and group 31 are similar.

Or

I can get the Northstar bci 35 and a 250a ho alt from Singer for about $100 more.

I guess what I'm asking is that will I need a second battery with the ho alt regardless?

If so I will do option #1 then buy the ho alt later after my bank account recovers.

Always upgrade the alt first is what iv always heard.  Then go from there.  An alt + a group 31 of you can fit it in the front.  If it’s a battery for the back then get an  Xp3000, it’s pretty much the same as d3100 but cheaper.

As for needing 2 battery’s if you get the alt, I would say you could getaway with just one nice bat plus the alt for 2500 watts.
