Is there a way to fit an alternator for one vehicle into another

Recommended Posts

So I have a 270amp Mechman alt for my RAV4 that never got installed. I totalled it a few years ago  but I still have the alt. Any way I could build or buy a bracket or something to fit it into my Jeep now.?

Hey welcome back!

Maybe? You'd need a bracket that both allows it to fit space wise, and provides the same alignment of the pulley. Pulley would also need to be compatible regarding number of grooves.

Then there's the wiring bit, which varies from car to car. Assuming thr regulator tech used is the same, and the charge warning light tech is the same then imyou could make an adapter plug

I'd shoot mechman a note and see what the cost of recasing the thing is
