onyx1silverado
Hello everybody. Finally getting around to putting some low end in my 2012 Sierra extended cab. I have a JL stealth box and it’s rated at 600 rms. I want to get a Rockford T1000-1bdcp. Question I have is should I set the gain to full potential with the dd-1 and then back it off some? I do realize the amp has the potential to do twice the power the subs can handle. Maybe even go with lower power like T500-1bdcp. Guest
tune the amp properly and just keep your subwoofer level lower for the power
mothra
you can always turn it down. can't add what isn't there. if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know
k58.cross
You won't see 1000W due to impedance rise. You can use a test tone and measure volts and amps out of the amp while adjusting gain and set it for around 600W. Then as you play, get out every so often and check how hot the subs are getting. I think having more headroom in your source power than the load will draw is a good thing. You just need to set the source up to not kill the load.
