josephj86
And when tuning sub sonic with a smd cc-1 does it automatically go down 10 hrtz or is tuning to 32hz just 32hz? I've read alot about when a box is tuned to a certain tuning you should always go 10hz below on the subsonic filter? Does this make sense?
Triticum Agricolam
Having your box tuned lower than the Fs of your subs doesn't hurt them, you are fine. The Fs of a sub is measure in free air anyway and it changes when it gets put in a box. What is your reason for wanting different subs? Generally you want to set your subsonic frequency to a 1/2 octave below the tuning frequency of your box. I suggest verifying the tuning frequency of your box first because they often are not tuned to what people think. You can do this by playing sine wave tones while watching/feeling cone movement. Assuming your box is tuned to 32 hz you should set your subsonic filter to 24 Hz.
