Zapco ST-6X DSP or Audio Control D-6.1200

Hello All,

I'm planning a SQ build with an active 3 way front stage+ sub, due to limited space I am looking into purchasing a 6 channel amp with an integrated DSP to handle the front stage amplification+system processing.

Currently Im looking into two amps, the Zapco ST-6X DSP and the Audio Control D-6.1200.

Both amps seem to be able to cover all my system needs, but from what I have read the AC has more tuning capabilities, more power(+20 watts per channel), is more compact, but its a class D design vs AB for the Zapco and the AC costs almost twice as much.

I don't plan on competing with my set up, it  will most likely be intalled, tuned and left as is, so is the AC really worth the extra premium?

I don't want to spend an extra $400 just for more tuning capabilities, but if the AC internals are better than the Zapco and I can expect better SQ from it then I will go with the AC.

Hope you can give me some feedback.

Regards

Carlos

Why do you think you MUST start out with 3way with DSP just to run Sound Quality ???

Good question.  I already had a nice Focal active two way system on a previous car with a dsp built into the headunit (Alpine),  thought a natural progression to get better SQ would be a 3 way system with DSP.

Im flexible on the 3 way set up, but Im looking into getting a DSP since I want to integrate the system into the OEM headunit.

Zapco - 90db signal to noise, thd+n 0.2%

Audiocontrol - 102db signal to noise, thd+n 0.1%

For SQ no question go with the higher S/N ratio amp. I'd go audio control

Ehh mlat people wouldnt be able to tell the difference. My personal opinion, I love zapco amps.
