So confused plz help

Recommended Posts

So i have a new optima red top 34/78 and I just bought an Xs power D 3400. So can I hook those two batteries up in parallel, do I need an isolator hooked up? And do I run a wire to each battery for my alternator I have a high output alternator I just don't know how to hook everything up I've tried looking at other posts and don't understand if one will draw from the other please help

Ooh, that's not a great idea. Those batteries have very different discharge rates. Should be pairing the same batteries, type and age Ideally. Yellow top would be the optima of choice but your better off just getting another xs. You'll run +to+ with fuses rated for the wire capability right after the first battery and right before the second and ground the second battery to frame/chassis.

They are both technically AGM's, but as said above very different Batts.

You can isolate it so they disconnect when cars off, but I'd just get  a proper match for xs

Even a auto part store agm would be fine for the xs

Duracell platinum isn't a bad battery

separately charge each battery, then check resting voltage after several hours. If they're within .1v, just wire as normal.
