This is not stuff that I WROTE. This is stuff that is what has been taught in every reputable car audio classroom that has ever put on a seminar or class on the subject.  I have known this for a LONG TIME.  But some people just don't want to listen. They make up their own mind how things should be and that is it, all while making an extreme fool out of themselves. Don't make a fool out of yourself. Read the stuff below that i have already posted several times. Each time, someone new says "oh wow i didn't know that, now it makes sense".  I hope this makes sense to you, if not, re-read it until it does.  Even 99.99999% of those who claim to "love my scope, no need for an SMD DD-1" because it sounds cool to say "i use a scope" don't even know how or why they are using it. I have seen more than a few people with a scope COMPLETELY obliterate the gain setting procedure.  Remember just because you have a tool to help you, doesn't mean you don't have to know what you are doing too.

Here is a comment from one of the dumbest people on the planet, the owner of EMF Audio.  I never even heard of the guy until this weekend as he spent 41 minutes dogging out our product and USED THE WRONG CD and the WRONG instructions for the tool he was using. You simply cannot use an SMD DD-1 procedure and tracks for the DD-1+. Two totally different tracks and procedures.  On top of that, the dumb ass didn't even use the right, wrong tracks LOL!!  Where did the sweep come from that we saw on the scope? That isn't on any of our test discs. He doesn't even know what overlaps mean, what they are for but still gives out advice to people about it.   What he is doing is basically making other people dumb too by spreading his ignorance to people who don't know any better.

"If you set it at zero you have less output". If you use a gain overlap you will have some clipping... dude, you own a so called audio company.  You should learn the basics first.  There is a REASON FOR THAT.  You are making otherwise intelligent people sound as dumb as you.  If you are installing, you STILL NEED to know what you are doing.  You should have a basic understanding of what overlaps you would like to choose. If you aren't smart enough to choose your overlaps based on the amp/speaker combo you are using, you can use an SMD IMSG to find the fs of the driver, aka what the speaker "likes to play" or more importantly what it does NOT like to play...then an SMD AMM-1 to make sure it's within it's power handling after you choose it's crossover point.  Like i said, you still need to know what you are doing.  Our tools help you get there. We are trying to show you the RIGHT way but also provide an awesome, easy to use and accurate tool to get the job done that isn't a complicated, expensive O-scope.  You will get BETTER results with a DD-1 for several reasons. You will get GARBAGE results with a cheap O-scope because you don't have the resolution to see what is going on.  Even a fairly expensive scope requires a very good eye and someone who know's what they are doing to spot what the DD-1 and DD-1+ see's VERY fast and without any effort. We made it easy.

why is a dd-1 better than a scope? Because almost nobody would think this wave form has anything wrong with it but the dd-1 says otherwise.  Then zoom in and see why. Stop being stubborn and stop listening to people who are steering you wrong.
