ehall8702
Anyone know if an alternator that may fit where the ac compressor is located on the 5.7l vortec? Seen a few Ford alternators that look like they would fit but haven't had time to go out and see if it'll fit my truck.i can get alternators real cheap and not looking to go to crazy with brackets and stuff yet. I will be fabbing a way to do it soon but not ready to go there yet. 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears. Kranny
for 5.7 vortec chevy's, pickup or suv, you can get a dual or triple bracket that fits on passenger side, or a bracket that fits on the driver side next to compressor that holds up to 3. you dont need to get rid of the AC to fit even 6+ alts on these trucks. http://www.blueghost.org/

That's kinda what I was getting at...I'll take the next alt I take off a Ford and see if it fits, may be useful info for others, thanks for the links tho when I'm ready I'll be adding a few alts with prebuilt brackets 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears.
