Battery current sensor

Need some advise done couple research on here and google about battery current sensor on my 06 suburban I’m waiting for my high output alternator to come in but I was told to disconnect the sensor and run it like that but I get better voltage with it connected I also have a the big 3 upgrade should I also run one of the ground wires to the sensor or leave the stock grounds as is can someone lead me to the right direction with sensor connected I get 14.6 and with the bass drops to 13.6 but once I disconnect it I get 13.6 and then drops to 12.9 when the bass drops I have a 320amp on the way I just want better voltage and keeping battery good
