Izzyman
Hello, I had bought an amp off of ebay and it turned out to be blown. The seller refunded me the cash, but I really don't know what to buy now as a lot has changed. I ended up buying a new car sunday (2019 Dodge Journey with 165 amp stock Alternator)(I have already ran big 3 with 0 gauge) I have two of these speakers that I am having a custom box made for AUDIOPIPE TXX-BDC3-12 Audiopipe 12" Woofer 1800W Max 4 Ohm DVChttps://www.ebay.com/itm/AUDIOPIPE-TXX-BDC3-12-Audiopipe-12-Woofer-1800W-Max-4-Ohm-DVC/283707336013?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dbd28ed98afe9422f8c865304892e8b88%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dlo%26sd%3D202913709709%26itm%3D283707336013%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af5c37e62-5d2e-11ea-8f74-74dbd1802106|parentrq%3A9faa0a851700ad4fab89180dffed06a6|iid%3A1 I only have about $400 ($300 is better) to spend on an Amp, and I really do not know what to buy. I guess what I am looking to say is what is the best AMP I can run for these speakers that can run off of the stock 165amp alternator and the stock battery. I would like to try to run them at 1ohm if I can. I wont be able to add an extra battery right away and so far the stock alternator is the only one I have seen available. (Not that I could afford to upgrade the alternator at this time.) Any advice is welcome, thanks
Izzyman
Its a brand new car, scared to hit the charging system too hard even though I did do the big 3 with 0 gauge this weekend.
AaronT
There are a few companies that will build an alt to fit any vehicle. Brand X and a few others Give brand x a message on face book. Jonathan Patrick is the iwgwr operator. Hand built one at a time I know his price list pretty good. $305 shipped out the door for 250 amp large case alternator with internal bypass (needed if your car is PCM controlled charging) 14.7 volts. $325 for 270 to 300 amp I believe. They get up to as high as $475 fir big amperage models, like 370-425 amps. The 250 amp is plug and play and uses stock diameter pulley donyiu don't have to try multiple belts for correct fit. AaronT
This amp is your best bet in your current situation with one battery and stock alt with big 3 done. It normally sells for $370 at sound solutions audio. And at 250 on Amazon I just literally bought one cuzz it's a great amp to have around And it's rating are at 12.6 volts, which you will have no problem maintaining and I guarantee you'll be above 13 2 at all times This amp pretty much does over double it's rating when given 13.9-14.3 volts. And I'm not shitting you, I haven't seen these at this price before, usually Amazon wants 279-289. I just grabbed one up. Just in case I ever need a back up for my t1500-1bdcp Rockford. Plus I do lots of little basic installs for people and keep a few amps Around that aren't being used. Nice to be able to solve the issue of finding a decent prices quality amp. I hate when people come to me with shit Amps that are cheap and don't do rated and expect them to push 2 decent sized mini monster subs. I most of the time tell them to get an amp I recommend before I even touch car. 7 times out of 10 I loose that customer to thier cousin who jacks thier shit up. The few that di, end up having to put job off fir a week or more to get amp in and finding time away from thier job and my real job. Long story short, this amp will not let you down. I've used thier 2500 of this line before and was very very impressed Here's actual Dyno numbers from it Dynamic is what music is. So there ya go can't beat that for 250 shipped at your door in 2 days
Izzyman
Thanks for the reply. Ill have to check out this Amp. I guess what had left me worried is I see these dyno runs and the Amplifier is pulling 260-281 Amps. If that is ok for my car current setup, sounds good to me. I was almost going to buy a AudioPipe APCL30001D, Then I about shit myself when I seen it pulled 400 Amps. I know I will be getting another battery and try to find another alternator in about six months, just looking for some little bumps in the truck for now. AaronT
No amp is going to make power and defy ohms law. Expect at least 10 Amos per 100 watts. But that's a quick in-rush current, you'll be able to deal with it. But yeah, that's why electrical should never be overlooked. I don't get why people address that aspect last after buying amps speakers and decks. Put that alt and Batts in first unless staying under 1k total at max volume

I totally get what you are saying, I just didn't know the kind of draw a 2000w amp would have. I come from a generation where we just threw speakers in our Pontiac Grand Ams and wondered why our speakers blew 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
