Cause I know that Re used the same motor assembly but had to remove the onyx logos prior to use but didnt, so there are some Re subs from back in the day that have the Onyx logo on the motor

Pioneer AVH480

Zapco ST5XII amplifier

Stevens Audio 6.5" components (passive)

Onyx Subwoofer

yeah i think youre right and the onyx logo was on the re woofers not vice versa. This was back in the day though. way before companies oem'd for other companies like they do now. it was a big fiasco at the time.

..the true story is that an order was placed for those motors with all of that shit in the back plate and the owner of onyx stuck Destijl (the oem company of RE)..claims they were "out of spec" which was a bunch of rubbish.

..had to get rid of the motors because the guy stuck Destijl with all of the parts, so it was the second version of the HC series...nothing wrong with them, solid designs for the time.

BTW..the "monster" is fake.

Oh yeah I know, cause that happened right around when scott closed Onyx in 01, 02 or 03, not sure off hand, and then he switched builders and got screwed waiting for prototypes he couldnt meet the demand so he closed! I know, I was there cleaning out the warehouse, lol!

You are right about the motors being returned, and the only reason there were issues is because, the company didnt remove the logos like they were supposed to. Im pretty sure the reason for the out of spec was because the motors would shift on the basket when hot, and then hit the coils! I know that was an issue!
