Teach me something here

Often we hear about how much juice can be pulled from a battery, and how fast.

But is it possible to put too much juice into a battery, too quickly ?

I have seen many vehicles on the internet with 3 or 4 big, strong alternators putting out as much as 1400 amps ! (which is ef'ng amazing !) But almost always, these same systems will have a big, fat battery system of like 6 batteries, or more... Or nowadays, a big, booming lithium bank.

But do individual batteries, have a max charging potential, and could one be fried, or catostrophically blown up, if one tried to shove massive amps into it too quickly ?

Does this ever happen, and is this ever a concern ?

The alts only put out as much amps is needed right?  So theoretically you can’t put to much amps into them?  Just spit ballin here.
