Is it my box, or the subs?

if you don't have the money to get another box i would try putting in some closed cell foam (i bought a sheet at macs) to take up internal space in the time being of course you will have to cut and paste some pieces but would get you closer to what the subs would like as you can add till you are happy with it of course its a give take relationship as with most boxes. That atrend box may not be very good due to port location some vehicles would be fine others not so much.

 Gunnem brought up aero ports IMO they are more forgiving than say a weak port wall flexing.

I got a ground shaker box coming Monday and decided against atrend...Should be pretty solid for what I need and want.

But wait, lets back track.... You said the box was tuned to 34 hz ? How do you know this ? Have you made all the needed measurements and ran this in a program ? If it really is tuned to 34 hz, that should be really musical at least... even if it doesn't get as loud as you would like. In fact, if if the box is over sized + tuned to 34 hz, it should be really awesome, right up until the subs bottom out, from not enough control. That box might be bigger than it needs to be, but just from the photos it doesn't look WAY too big. 

No way to know for sure until you find a tape measure  lol Do that, and get back to us.
