Jonrussell18
Headunit: Kenwood DDX26BT Front Doors: CDT Audio CL62.2 Rear Sail Panel: CDT HD-6EX Subwoofer: Fi Audio Alpha 10 Sealed 0.75ft^3 Full-Range Amp: Orion XTR 500.4 Mono Amp: Orion XTR 650.1d When I first started this build, I was not into car Audio at all, didn't know the first thing about it. With that being said, I am currently trying to back step to fix install mistakes I made when I installed each component. I will say, that so far I am pleased. The door speakers were on the factory amp for the longest time which was holding them back immensely, now with 125w RMS+ on them they are LOUD, but not harsh at all, very mellow sounding tweeters. Only other 6.5 components I have to compare too would be my sisters Alpine Type Rs on an RF 250x4 and I much prefer the sound signature of the CDTs. The sub, it's fairly loud for a single 10 in a sealed box I'd say. Measuring with my Quest Technologies Dosimeter on the Z weighted scale. Outlaw style with the door open I managed a 144.4dB @53Hz. Doesn't play super low but it definitely has output and sounds remarkably clean doing so. Did all my time alignment through the headunit and have the rear gain set with 2.5dB of overlap instead of 5dB like the front. Barely notice the rear speakers are even there. I plan on buying a set of kick panel enclosures and another set of CL62.2s and moving everything to front stage only. I did the big 3 and upgraded my alternator, an area of which I should have researched more. Ended up using 4 Gauge OFC from Sky High for the big 3 and got a 175 Amp CS130 Alternator. Should have went with a Mechman unit in a larger casing cause I still have ridiculous amounts of voltage drop at idle. Cruising around voltage is fine barely drops at all if any. All in all, I'm happy with it. It's not perfect, but it puts a smile on my face and that's all that matters. I guess it's rare to see a car run 12s at the drag strip and then blast 140s on the return road. 🤣
