lilrezy50
Good evening everyone, I am looking for a quick math check on a box design and confirm my center slot port length Overall enclosure dimensions: W - 30.25" H - 14.25" D - 25 Material - .75" Woofer displacement .28 2 common port walls Port W - 4" Port H - 12.75" Port Length 19" Does that port length of 19" look correct to come out with a tuning freq around 34.97, 51.00In2 Port area, 4.99 ft3 gross and 4.19ft3 net? 1point21gigawatts
Everything’s correct except the net volume is 4.16 cu ft and the tuning is 36.42hz. port length 20”-35.88hz 21”-35.43hz 22”-34.96hz 23”-34.56hz i would make the port 23” because after subwoofer displacement you would be around 35hz. “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
lilrezy50
Understood, and with it being a 23" deep port, would you keep it straight into the rear of the box so its 2" away from the rear panel and not L bend it?
1point21gigawatts
L bend. You want exactly 4” from that wall so the port is even and air flow is optimal. “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
shredder2
Id halve the port width after the bend if its a 2 common wall center port... 4" to 2" after the bend
lilrezy50
Understood, my question is if the port is 4” all the way for 23” deep port, and the box overall depth is 25” inches, would you keep the port 4” all the way back and keep it straight vs doing and L bend because it will be 2” away from the rear wall?
