Joshdashef Posted May 15, 2020 Report Share Posted May 15, 2020 Got tired of using the cardboard for these tools so I bought a pelican case (V100 vault series). It has enough room for two smd tools, probes, and some accessories. Ran out of time to finish it tonight but will add photos as I complete this project. I think I'll end up using some blue felt on the underside to show when I pull a tool out but who knows. I had a much easier time with the second cutout compared to the first! I found that the long straighter cuts are much smoother if you go about half way through the foam on your first path then close to all the way through on your second pass with the blade. Also if you cut with the blade coming directly at you, with your eyes level with the foam (gonna have to bend those knees), you can control the blade far better than looking down on it. Plan on adding some felt underneath to show when you pull a tool out, likely a light blue. Cut out some of the foam on the bottom to allow the wires of the probes to sit easier. Lots of trial and error to get it to fit properly. Put the cd's under all the tools in case I need them, but I mostly use bluetooth or usb files to tune anyways. Manuals are tucked under the top foam also. Each side has its own probe with some velcro to hold them together.
