agreed with all that, 2v should be more than enough. sounds like something else is going on with your current setup.

Well their definitely is an issue with my current Kenwood, and they totally know about it. Like I had said, I tried the software update, with step by step phone guidance, but we could not get the HU to accept it.

That's okay though, the deck actually had some other things I didn't care for either.

I think this new Pioneer should be really nice. Solid reviews. Android compatible.

if I turn my bass boost off on the HU, and also, off on the amp, and set my bass knob at zero, I have to turn my amp gains up to 95+ % ! Like honestly, maxing out my gains, seems barely enough !

I see you mention almost everything but sub level... where do you have that set currently?

Thank you Josh. When I said I set my bass knob to zero, I'm assuming 12 o'clock is zero, with 7 o'clock being -6 or -12 db's, and 5  o'clock being +6 or +12 db's... But my know doesn't have any numbers on it <img src="> lol

Oh, it's the phone cord style...

So when you said zero you meant dead middle on the bass knob? I think I get what your saying, you did the second thing I mentioned and set the knob so you have room to move it up or down. Weird that you have to put your gain up so much even with the knob at the half way mark... with my dc 2k I run it with knob pretty much always at half way with no issues. I wonder if your bass knob is faulty? Somethings awry for sure.

Sub level ? On which part of the system ? Like I say, I have my sub boost at the HU and at the amp turned off. I have my bass knob set to 12 o'clock (or neutral)

But it's not just that the bass isn't loud enough.... Even my 4 ch amp needs the gains cranked way up.

And as I keep saying, Kenwood totally recognizes this deck (and I think a few others in the series) has an issue with the volume controls, and they even have a software fix.... It just doesn't want to update on my HU 😒

Definitely not the bass knob. It's the HU. It sometimes comes and goes too. Sometimes it gets WAY louder between 30 and 31 (out of 35) but this morning, it didn't jump up way louder, but rather, still wasn't loud for shit at 31 or 32. I rarely play it at 33, as I've heard my HU is only clean to 32.

Dean and Fernando didn’t like that dsp lol

Actually, I just watched this entire video,

and they seemed to think the Dayton 408 was a great value. I also learned a few things about setting it up. Plus, one person asked about the 3.2 volt max input, to which Dean said, "He thought that had to be a mistake... and that you shouldn't have any problem feeding it more volts". Nice.
